Summertime is for cocktails. Whether you’re hosting a BBQ, or a simple terrasse party, cocktails are good for any occasion, especially when the sun’s out. Looking for easy summer cocktail recipes? Something that doesn’t involve throwing in 100 ingredients together, put it in a blender on a specific setting that you don’t have, shake it exactly 12 times, then sprinkle some magic fairy dust you’ve found from the top of mount Everest?

Well, despair no more. Here are some super easy summer cocktail recipes to quickly get you from mixing to drinking.

 

Margarita Recipe

Ingredients: Tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur, Simple Syrup, kosher salt, and lime wedge.

Widely recognized as one of the timeless summertime classics, Margaritas are also easy to make. In fact, it’s really not complicated at all. Just a few ingredients and you’re good to go. Starter recipe:

  • 1 1/2 ounces of tequila
  • 1 ounce of fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce of orange liqueur
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of simple syrup
  • kosher salt
  • lime wedge

Moisten the rim of your glass with a lime wedge, and sprinkle some kosher salt around the rim. Add Tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur, and simple syrup in your glass. Stir it and add ice. Garnish it with lime slices or a lime wedge, it’s your choice. Then, enjoy it.


Watermelon Mojito Recipe

Starter recipe:

  • 1/2 a medium size watermelon (about 4 lbs watermelon), seeds removed and cut into chunks
  • 1/3 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 3/4 cup to 1 cup white rum
  • 20-30 fresh mint leaves, muddled
  • ½ cup simple syrup (optional)

Put your watermelon chunks into a blender for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Pour the watermelon into a large pitcher and add the lime juice and the mint leaves. Stir it, and add in the white rum. Stir again. Taste it and add simple syrup according to your preferences. Stir again, and pour into an ice-filled glass. Enjoy.

 

Mint Julep Recipe

Mint Julep, designed to be a spirit-forward yet sweet cocktail, is simply perfect for the weekend afternoon and evening. Known for being the signature drink of the Kentucky Derby, an annual horse race in Louisville, Kentucky, United States, Mint Julep owes its heritage to the 18th century southern United States. Traditionally served in a Highball glass or Julep cup over crushed ice and garnished with mint. Easy to make, easy to drink.


Starter recipe:

  • ¼ oz of raw sugar syrup
  • 2 oz of Bourbon
  • 8 mint leaves
  • 1 mint sprig

Add the lightly muddled mint and syrup in a Julep cup or rocks glass. Add the bourbon and pack the glass tight with crushed ice. Stir it well, garnish it with the mint sprig, and you’re good to go.

 

Ginger Peach Soda Recipe

Starter recipe (for 8 servings):

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 tbsps of minced ginger
  • 2 peaches
  • 2 liter Seltzer
  • 16 mint leaves

Preheat your oven for medium-low heat. In a medium saucepan, pour a cup of water, sugar, and ginger until sugar gets dissolved. Remove the made syrup from heat and cool it down for 30 minutes. Get a medium-sized bowl and pour syrup through a fine sieve, and separate the ginger. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, and refrigerate it until well cooled. Get the peach sliced into 8 tall glasses, gently press peaches to release their juice. Pour 2 tablespoons of the chilled syrup over peaches. Add ice cubes and pour seltzer. Stir it until well mixed. Garnish with 2 mint leaves, and enjoy.

 

Red Sangria Recipe

  • 2 oz of dark rum
  • 3 oz of ginger beer
